Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Essential responsibilities and duties :

Lead sales activities for customer interface on new business pursuits/acquisitions, and commercial actions, for the responsible customer account. Integrated within the Sales Organization of a given Customer within Japan Division, the Sales Manager, Honda, is responsible for the Sales development for Honda business globally, including business with their group companies, or their Tier 1 companies.

Key roles and responsibilities :

  • Develop in-depth intimacy with customer contacts (Purchasing, Engineering, Programs) :
  • Manage customer satisfication of QCDDM for entire business
  • Interfaces with the customer at mid-management level
  • Develops relationship with his direct counterparts at the customer, along with the assigned contacts by the sales network
  • Understand what competition is doing, and shares with internal cross funcitonal members for development or adjustment of customer strategies
  • Manage a team of assistant managers and sales represnetatives :
  • Responsible for coaching, developing and promoting the Sales team
  • Assign objectives, follow-up on progress, and evaluates members
  • Business acquisitions :
  • Oversee commercial offer preparations to provide answer to customer within expected due date
  • Validate targeted pricing and negotiation plan / tactics to convince customer
  • Review (coherence, quality, respect of contractual guidelines,…), validate, and proposes offer for upper manager review and approval
  • Develop & lead the execution of the lobbying plan
  • Prepare, update and improve commercial offers through the negotiation rounds
  • Program oversight  :
  • Oversees program(s) from Sales perspective
  • Follow the program profitability, and initiates, and / or supports negotiation of ECRs and claims

  • Participate to the BG / Division Program review(s)

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Qualifications  

 

The ideal candidate will have/be :

 

Minimum Education Level : Bechaleor Degree with a willingness to develop a career path in the organization, Business or Engineering major is a plus

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of professional experience with successful track record with different   commercial assignments in the automotive industry
  • Established personal relationship with any Japanes OEMs (eg. Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Susuki, or On-Highway commercial vihecle OEMs) within the relevant electronics markets is highly preferred; experience with Honda or their group company is a plus
  • Knowledge and/or experience in solution and/or value added sales in Automotive Cockpit Electronics related products or components (IVI, IVE), ADAS, or Display System(s)

 

Skills and competencies:

 

  • Native or near native Japanese and fluent in English
  • Automotive Business Model, Industry, and Product knowledge
  • Strong competencies in relationship management and negotiation
  • Comfortable with financials; In-depth understanding of costing files and P&L structure (“hands on”)
  • Understanding of the Business Plan & RFQA
  • Good communication and presentation skills, and capacity of empathy
  • Business and entrepreneur international mindset
  • Proactive, accountable and results oriented – Get the things done
  • Self-driven team player and ability to work in a cross functional organization
  • Ability to cope with frequent domestic business trips
  • Driver’s license
